Framingham State 104, Elms 100

CHICOPEE, Ma. — Elms College had six players score in double figures, but Framingham State junior forward Derek Wigman (Pembroke, MA) scored a team-high 27 points to pace the Rams past the Blazers 104-100 in Saturday’s non-conference men’s basketball game at the Maguire Center.

The Rams got help from sophomore guard Michael Costa (Holbrook, MA), who scored 21 points, as well as freshman guard Casey Bracket (Watertown, MA) who drained 16 points and picked up a game-high nine rebounds, as well as a game-high nine assists. Wigman also went 4 for 7 from three-point range to improve the Ram’s record to 5-3 overall.

The Blazers (2-4 overall) let a 12-point half-time lead slip away, getting outscored 66-50 in the second half and overtime. Junior guard David Williams (Hartford, CT) recorded a game-high 28 points, going 11 for 19 from the floor. Sophomore forward Renato Lindmets (Springfield, MA) finished with 16 points and five rebounds.

Elms College opens up North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play when it travels to Lesley University on Tuesday, December 6. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m.
