Keene State 95, New England College 63

CONCORD, N.H. — Sean Sullivan (Athol, Mass.) scored his team-high 16 points in the first half to lead the Keene State College men’s basketball team to a 95-63 non-conference victory over New England College in the fifth annual Jacob’s Bridge through Autism New England Division III Challenge held Tuesday at New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord.
The Owls, who have never lost a game in the tournament, improve to 3-1, while NEC falls to 1-1.
Keene State pulled away from NEC on the way to building a commanding 25-point lead (45-20) at the break. Joe Shaw’s (Concord, N.H.) three-pointer at the 10:30 mark gave KSC a ten point lead (23-13), and a driving lay-up by David Sontag (Mont Vernon, N.H.) pushed the advantage up to 31-17 at the 6:06 mark of the first half.
In addition to Sullivan, the Owls had two other players hit double figures. Freshman Erik Schlacter (Marlborough, Mass.) added 14 points, and Sontag finished with 13 points to go with a team-high six rebounds. Senior Harley Davis (Newburyport, Mass.) dished out eight assists in the victory.
Freshman Ryan Jaziri (Norwich, Conn.) and sophomore Patrick Quinn (Holbrook, N.Y.) led New England College with 16 points each.
Keene State plays at Southern Vermont College on Thursday (7 p.m.).
