The Bears were down by as many as 11 points in the second half, before narrowing that Corsair lead to one point with less than a minute remaining in the game. UMass-Dartmouth capitalized on a key BSC turnover, and kept the Bears from hitting a potential game-tying three-pointer with time winding down, sealing the victory.
The Corsairs had three players in double figures, as sophomore Paul Pawlowski (Taunton, MA) led the team with 16 points. Senior Chris Lapriore (Grafton, MA) and freshman Tishon Crawley (Bridgeport, CT) added 13 and 10 points, respectively.
Junior David Rukstalis (Norwood, MA) led all scorers for the Bears with 21 points, and senior Peter Santos (Fairhaven, MA) was right behind with 20 points to go along with 7 rebounds. Freshman Ryan Devereaux (Peabody, MA) chipped in with eight points off the bench, nailing two key three-pointers during the Bears’ comeback. Senior point guard Brian Adamczyk (Chicopee, MA) had an outstanding overall game, dishing out a career-high 13 assists to go along with three steals.
The Bears are back in action on Saturday as they travel to Schenectady, New York to take on the Dutchmen of Union College. UMass opens the Little East Conference schedule on Saturday as they head to Keene, New Hampshire to take on the Owls of Keene State College.
