Earlham 57, Wilmington 44

RICHMOND, Ind. — The Wilmington College Quakers dropped their second consecutive game, dropping their record to 2-2 on the season in a 57 to 44 loss to the Quakers of Earlham College in the annual "Quaker Bowl".

Eric Stirling scored a team-leading 12 points in the loss while Deon Short chipped in 11.

The game started as a defensive battle, with Wilmington unable to find the scoring column for the first nine minutes of the first half, as Earlham jumped out to a 9-0 lead before Josh Rohrbacher ended the scoring slump for the Green and White with a free throw with 11:28 left on the first-half clock. Wilmington battled back and cut the deficit to two heading into the locker room at 18-16.

The Quakers got the first basket of the second half, tying the game at 18 before Earlham opened an 8-1 run, taking a seven point lead and never looked back in the 13-point Earlham victory.

Stirling led the Green and White with 12 points while Short scored 11. Stirling and Nick Berter had four rebounds while Short picked off two steals.

Earlham was led by Brandon Miller and Jermaine Crumby, who each had a double-double in the game, Miller scoring 17 points and pulling down 10 rebounds wihle Crumby scored 10 and pulled down 13 boards.

With the loss, WC falls to 2-2 while Earlham evens their record at 2-2.

The next game for the Green and White is on Wednesday, December 1 when the team travels to Crestview Hills, Kentucky to face off against the Saints of Thomas More College in the second game of a women's/men's double header.
