The Eagles scored the last seven points of the first half, five by Allen, to take a 38-27 lead at intermission. Hall opened the second half with two three-pointers and Emory expanded the lead to as many as 23 points early in the second stanza. The Hornets trimmed the advantage to just nine at 65-56 with 3:41 left on the game clock, but the visitors sealed the game at the free-throw stripe.
Senior forward Ryan Pehanick (Charlottesville, VA/Albemarle) scored a team and season high 16 points for Lynchburg, and grabbed six rebounds. Pete Manos, Jr. (Ft. Lauderdale/Avon Old Farms) hit three three-pointers and finished with 14 points, and Andy Albright (Hudson, OH/Hudson) finished with seven points, six rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots.
Hall scored 23 points and grabbed six boards for Emory (4-0) and Allen added 20 on six-of-eight shooting. Spiros Ferderigos tallied 13 points and 11 caroms.
Lynchburg (2-3) opens Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play Wednesday, traveling to Randolph-Macon College for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
