Sul Ross State 64, Mississippi College 59

11/27/04-ALPINE, Tx. — Workman Leads Lobos Past Choctaws in 64-59 Squeaker

11/27/04- Derric Workman (Odessa) contributed 16 points for the Lobos as they opened conference play against last year’s American Southwest Conference East Division Champion Mississippi College. The Lobos prevailed 64-59 in the home season opener for Sul Ross.

Workman shined from the line hitting 6 of 7 free throws.

Justin Steward (Texico, NM) also reached double figures as he totaled 13 points for the day while he and Aaron Hardwick (El Paso) grabbed 5 rebounds in the contest. Steward also had a trio of block shots and mustered 4 assists.

It was a rare outing for Sul Ross considering the Lobos did not hit a single 3-point shot the entire game as Sully went 0-8 from long range while shooting 38.2% from the field.

The Lobos are perfect at 2-0 and 1-0 in ASC play. Sul Ross will entertain Louisiana College Monday evening in a 7:30 p.m. game at the Gallego Center.
