The Mustangs held a 35-31 advantage at halftime and held the lead throughout most of the second half. The Seahawks saw their final lead of the game at 45-43 with 14:39 remaining on a three-pointer from freshman guard T.J. Jordan. The Mustangs answered with a three-point basket from sophomore guard Chris Warren with 13:44 remaining in the contest and never trailed again.
Sophomore guard Steven Segears and senior forward Wade Henninger each added 12 points for the Mustangs. Warren was the fourth player in double figures for Villa Julie with ten points in the contest.
For the Seahawks, senior forward Jeffrey Turner scored a team-high 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting. Turner also claimed a team-high eight rebounds in the contest before fouling out of the game with 6:58 remaining. He was one of three Seahawk players to foul out of the contest.
Senior forward John Dewey added 14 points and five rebounds before he fouled out of the game. Junior guard Ben Stewart contributed with 12 points and two steals.
The Seahawks (1-2) will return to action on Wednesday, December 1, when they host Marymount University in a Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) contest. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. and will follow the women's contest which is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
