St. Martin's 92, Pacific Lutheran 72

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Forward Niko Nunogawa had 18 points and guard Greg O'Neal added 15 as Saint Martin's College defeated Pacific Lutheran, 92-72, in final-day action at the 7th annual Western Washington
University/Chuck Randall Men's Basketball Thanksgiving Classic at Sam Carver Gymnasium.

Pacific Lutheran, which got 23 points from freshman reserve forward Michael Torbenson, 21 of them in the last 12 minutes, fell to 1-3. The Saints evened their record at 2-2.

The Lutes held an early 7-4 lead, but Saint Martin's ran off 11 straight points, the last nine on three consecutive 3-pointers, to take a 15-7 lead with 13:26 left in the half, and never trailed again.

The Saints held a 37-25 edge at halftime, and never led by less than 12 in the second half. Their biggest lead was 28, 66-38, with 10:45 to go, coming at the end of a 9-0 run.

Forward Thomas Preston had 13 points for Saint Martin's, which hit 13-of-24 3-pointers (54.2 percent).

Center John Stark had 11 points and a game-high eight rebounds for Pacific Lutheran, which held a 49-38 edge on the boards.
