Elliott Linsley added a career high 22 points, going 10-for-10 from the floor. Linsley added a game high eight rebounds.
Bates improved to 5-0 with its second tournament championship of the season. Bates won the Brandeis Tip-Off Tournament last weekend.
The Beacons took a quick 6-2 lead on a pair of 3-pointers by Eric Bateman, but the Bobcats responded with a 13-0 run over the next three minutes to take a 15-6 lead. UMass Boston got back within five, but a 13-2 Bobcat run gave Bates a 32-13 lead halfway through the first half.
Bates shot 22-for-35 from the floor in the first half to build a 54-37 halftime lead. Bates pulled away in the second half, leading by as many as 26 points, and the Beacons could get no closer than 16 points.
Stockwell was 10-for-15 from the floor with seven rebounds and five assists for the Bobcats. Brian Gerrity earned All-Tournament honors with 19 points, going 5-for-9 from 3-point range. Jon Furbush added 12 points with a 4-for-6 performance from behind the arc. Zak Ray added eight points and eight assists to find a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
Tony Barros led the Beacons with 19 points. Alberto Paniagua added 12 points and seven rebounds, while Bateman scored 10 points. Roger Perry scored eight points and added five assists to make the All-Tournament Team for UMass Boston, which fell to 2-3.
Bates shot a blistering 59.7 percent from the floor, shooting at a 54.5 percent clip from behind the arc. The Bobcats also dominated the boards, outrebounding the Beacons 44-23.
Bates returns to action on Thursday, facing Bowdoin in Brunswick in a Colby-Bates-Bowdoin rivalry game.
