The Bison held a 28-24 lead at halftime before the Panthers rallied to knot the score at 66-66 to force overtime. Jackson nailed four straight from the charity stripe to give Gallaudet an advantage they would not relinquish. The Bison finished the extra session shooting a scorching 62.5% from the field. Junior forward Sal Clark led Old Westbury with 25 points. Bison junior point guard Brendan Stern hit some clutch trifectas and added 16 points.
With the victory, Gallaudet improves to 3-2 overall, while the Panthers drop to 1-3. In Saturday’s championship game, Albright College held off a late surge from TCNJ to take home the tournament crown, 69-68. TCNJ senior guard Kyle Burke tallied a game-high 20 points, while Albright senior forward Ben Gallagher paced the Lions with 17. Jackson, Clark, Burke, Gallagher and Derick Grant (TCNJ) were named to the All-Tournament team, while Albright’s Trevor Peeter was selected the Tournament MVP.
Gallaudet returns to action at CAC foe Salisbury on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
