Capital (2-1) converted only 15 of 56 shots (26.8-percent) for the game, while Wittenberg (2-1) nailed 61-percent (25-of-41) of its shots in the 29-point victory.
The Crusaders hit just six field goals in the first half but trailed by only seven, 30-23, at the break by converting 12 Tiger turnovers into 13 points.
Wittenberg took better care of the basketball in the second half committing only six turnovers and hitting 15-of-22 shots.
Forwards Daniel Russ and Dane Borchers had 19 and 16 points each to lead Wittenberg.
Capital got a team-high nine points from senior Jake Beck.
Capital hosts the first day of the OAC/NCAC Challenge at The Capital Center Saturday as Mount Union College takes on No. 4 in the nation College of Wooster at 4 p.m., then at 6 p.m. the host Crusaders take on Ohio Wesleyan University.
The action moves to Delaware, Ohio, Sunday at 4 p.m. for day two of the OAC/NCAC Challenge as Capital takes on No. 4 Wooster and Ohio Wesleyan hosts Mount Union.
