HARTFORD, Conn., 11/23/2004 — Junior forward Tyler Rhoten (Ridgewood, N.J.) scored a game-high 20 points added four rebounds and four steals to lead the Trinity College Bantams to an 83-63 win over the visiting Eastern Connecticut State University Warriors in men’s basketball action this evening at Ray Oosting Gymnasium. Trinity, ranked No. 6 in the nation, improves to 3-0, while the Warriors drop to 2-1.

Trinity shot 51.4 percent from the field in the first half to take a 43-30 lead into intermission, and opened the second half with a 13-0 run to put the game away early. Bantam senior co-captain guard John Halas (White Plains, N.Y.) scored 17 points with four rebounds and sophomore guard Patrick Hasiuk (Enfield, Conn.) came off the bench to tally seven points and as many assists.

Junior forward Tim Callaghan (Clinton, Conn.) paced the Warriors with 13 points, while sophomore guard Matt Albon (Middlebury, Conn.), and senior center Jeroy Smith (New Haven, Conn.) totaled team-highs of seven boards and five assists.
