Gadles went 11-for-21 with four each of three pointers and free throws to pace all game scorers. He also blocked seven shots, made five thefts and dished out four assists. Four other Mustangs reached double digits including Justin Bryant, who had 10 points and two steals in the game’s final 10 minutes to help MIC recover from a two-point hole. He totaled 16 points for the game. Mike Dunham and Robert Bartlett contributed 13 and 12 points, respectively; and Andreas Vasiliu chipped in with 11.
Two Leopards had double-doubles including Carmino DeMercurio, who netted 29 points and 12 rebounds, and Sherrad Prezzie-Blue, who scored 20 and rebounded 10.
Mount Ida led most of the way, building an eight-point edge in the first half en route to the 42-37 score at intermission. In the second half, Wentworth whittled away an 11-point MIC advantage at the 15:44 mark and grabbed a two-point lead at 67-65 on a 20-7 run, capped by Morey Frydman’s layup with 10:01 on the clock.
MIC will compete in the UMass-Boston Tournament, held November 26-27, in Boston.
