Deep went 4-of-5 from long range and 9-of-13 overall from the field to lead the onslaught. The squad made 40-of-67 field-goals and went 9-of-16 from beyond the arc.
Mike and Matt Drahos each poured in 22 points. Mike pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds, while Matt had 10. Junior transfer Scott Mezyk had his best game in the green and white with 12 points 4-of-6 shooting, along with four assists in 18 minutes of action. James Wallace contributed 11 points and seven rebounds.
The Bison were hot from the start and dominated the first half of play. BC opened up a 10-point lead just five minutes into the game and the cushion swelled to as many as 24 (53-29) late in the half. Bethany went into halftime up by a score of 58-43.
Marietta hung tough and cut the lead to 11 (58-47) in the first minute of the second half. However, Bethany responded with a 16-0 run over the next five minutes to extend to a 74-47 advantage with 14:29 left to play. The lead ballooned to as many as 30 in the half as the Bison cruised to victory. The Bison shot 61.3-percent (19-of-31) from the field in the second half.
Craig Stewart and Sam Rutherford each had 19 points to lead Marietta.
The Bison return to action on Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 29 and 30, at the Wendy’s Classic at Wheeling Jesuit University. BC will face Division II West Liberty State on Monday at 6:00 p.m., followed by a 6:00 p.m. meeting with Ohio University-Eastern on Tuesday.
