With the win B-W improves to 3-0 overall. With its loss CWRU falls to 0-3 overall.
In the first half, Case jumped out to an early 3-0 lead behind a layup and free-throw conversion by Carson Oren. B-W responded on its next possession to tie the game behind a Thad Davis (Elyria/Open Door) turnaround jump shot. B-W scored its next eight points to jump to early 10-5 lead before an Andrew Impastato three-pointer cut the lead to two at the 17:03 mark. A jumper by Thad Davis at the 16:15 mark, began a 24-9 B-W run to extend the lead to as much as 17 points when the score was 36-19 with 8:53 remaining. A layup by Oren started the Case comeback as they went on a 21-10 run to put the first half score at 46-40.
Case opened the second half with a 6-0 run to tie the game at 46 behind baskets from Oren, Funso Lafe and Matt Cannan. A layup and free throw conversion by Tori Davis at the 15:05 mark put the score at 61-57. A steal and layup by Jeremy Sallee tied the game at 61. B-W lead by as many as nine points, at 90-81, in the second period of play when Tori Davis canned a jumper with 2:40 remaining. The Yellow Jackets lead 92-91 with :29 seconds left before a Thad Davis steal, with :10 left, and two free throws by Matt Marks sealed the B-W victory.
Thad Davis scored a game-high 29 points, including making 13 of 17 from the free throw line, pulled down a game-high 16 rebounds and added five blocks. With his 29 points tonight, Thad Davis now has 1,395 career points and moves into 11th on the all-time scoring list. Tori Davis added 26 points and nine rebounds and Tom Harrington also scored in double-figures with 13 markers. Oren lead all CWRU scorers with 23 points and Lafe chipped in with 22.
B-W will play their next game this Saturday November 27, when they travel to Granville, Pennsylvania to square off against Thiel College. Game time is set for 3:00 p.m.
