Trinity opened the game with a 14-2 run and never let its lead get below double figures. Rhoten had 18 points in the first half and Trinity shot 62.9 percent from the field over the first 20 minutes. The Anchormen cut the lead to 66-56 with 1:46 into the second half, but the Bantams built their advantage back up to 20 points at 80-59 with 9:41 on the clock.
Six Bantams scored in double figures in the game, as sophomore forward Robert Taylor III (Dorchester Center, Mass.) tallied 17 points and seven rebounds, and senior co-captain John Halas (White Plains, N.Y.) added 14 points. Senior center Craig Coupe (Niskayuna, N.Y.) grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds to go with his 11 points and four assists, while sophomore guard Kino Clarke (Brooklyn, N.Y.) came off the bench to score 10 points with seven assists.
Senior guard Andre Daley (Boston, Mass.) paced the Anchormen with 21 points and added four boards, while sophomore guard Kamari Williams (Springfield, Mass.) had 11 points and three steals. Sophomore center Anthony Pierloni (Plainville, Conn.) recorded nine points and a team-high nine rebounds for Rhode Island College.
