The Rangers took a 25-12 lead into the break after Washington went six-for-28 from the field in the first half. The Shorewomen turned things around on the offensive end in the second half, shooting 52% (15-of-29) from the field in the final 20 minutes, but could not overcome the halftime deficit.
Melissa Kraft put up 18 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists for Drew and was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player. Melissa Coover added a game-high 20 points, while Jennifer Weldon finished with 16 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. Meg Kwiatkowski, who was named to the All-Tournament Team, dished out a game-high five assists and swiped four steals.
Sophomore forward Lauren Duckworth led the Shorewomen with 16 points and eight rebounds. Sophomore guard LaToya Turner added 14 points, five rebounds, and three steals. Both Duckworth and Turner were named to the All-Tournament Team.
Drew out-rebounded Washington, 48-31, and pulled down 17 offensive boards. The Shorewomen went to the line just four times, connecting on three of those attempts, while the Rangers went to the line 20 times, but made only seven of their attempts.
