Chicago (1-1) led the entire first half and took a 29-20 lead at the break. The Maroons built their largest lead of the contest with 15:55 remaining on a three-point shot by Nate Hainje to put Chicago ahead 38-28.
Led by Kalsow, the Pointers (2-0) then exploded for a 22-3 run to give them a 50-41 advantage at the 7:38 mark. Kalsow tallied nine points during that stretch. UW-Stevens Point maintained a double-digit edge during the game’s final 2:10.
Clay Carmody led the Maroons with 12 points off the bench, while Brian Cuttica and Brandon Woodhead added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
