Widener 69, Kean 52

BOSTON — BOSTON, Mass. – Widener University (1-0) took advantage of 43 Kean University (0-1) turnovers as the Pioneers won their season opener 69-52 Saturday afternoon in the opening round of the Emmanuel College Tip-Off Tournament.
The Pioneers will take on host Emmanuel, who was a 64-62 winner over SUNY-Brockport in the other game.
Widener had three players in double figures, with junior Chelsea Luhta scoring a game-high 20 points. Senior guard Nicole Stanley added 13, while freshman forward Dominique Kidd had ten points.
Luhta also added a team-high seven rebounds for Widener, who scored 40 points off of Kean turnovers.
