The Loggers had six players in double figures, led by a big night by forward Zack McVey, who poured in 26 points while grabbing nine rebounds. Aubrey Shelton had 19 on 7-9 shooting, while Chris O’Donnell went for a 12 point 11 rebound double-double. Complementing the play of his teammates down low was point guard Jeremy Cross, who had a solid all around game, scoring 24 points on 6-11 shooting while grabbing four rebounds and handing out two assists in 29 minutes. Cross was also 12-15 from the line.
La Verne was led by Jason Greenlee’s game high 32 point effort, the most effective of five Leopards in double figures. Greenlee was 11-18 for the game, leading a La Verne team that shot 51.9% overall.
Puget Sound held a 46-34 rebounding edge and for the second night in a row shot the ball well, hitting on 57.5% of their shots.
The preseason continues for Puget Sound, as the Loggers travel to Hawaii for the Surf’s Up Tournament in Honolulu November 26-27.
