Bears Win NCI Tournament
The Potsdam men defeated Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts by a final score of 89-67 to go on and win the 2004 North Country Invitational Tournament. The Bears record is a perfect 2-0.
The Bears started out slow, but picked up the intensity right away. Leading the Bears was Edane Barton (Spring Valley/Colgate University) with 15 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Junior Clayton (Albany/Manhattan College) added 12 points and Eldon Harris (Albany/Albany) added 13 points and 6 rebounds.
Robert Mitchell (Brooklyn/Central) led all scorers in the game with 25 points. He also had 13 rebounds. Chris Voght (Lincoln RI/King Philip Regional) added 13 points.
Named to the All-tournament team was Robert Mitchell and JP Quintal (Queensbury/QHS) from MCLA, Jon Youngmann (Corinth/Corinth) from Clarkson, Keon Rembert (Brooklyn/Archbishop Walsh) from Hilbert, and Edane Barton and Junior Clayton from Potsdam. Eldon Harris was named the tournament MVP.
The Bears next game will be at Clarkson November 30th at 7pm.
