ERIE, Pa. — Brian Schaefer was named the tournament MVP and Adrian College defeated Penn State Behrend on Saturday 63-58 in the championship game of the Penn State Behrend Tournament. Behrend falls to 1-1, while the Bulldogs race out to a 2-0 start. Adrian will travel home and take the week off before hosting Oberlin College on November 27 at the Merillat Sport & Fitness Center. Game time is set for 3 p.m.

AC trailed 32-30 at the break, but outscored Behrend 33-26 in the second half to claim the win.

For the contest AC shot 21-for-47 (45 percent) from the floor, including 9-for-22 (41 percent) from three point land.

AC had a host of performers on Saturday led by Billy Collins Jr. Collins Jr. tossed in 24 points on 8-of-16 shooting and knocked down five triples. Schaefer added 19 points, while Earl Ingram chipped in seven points and grabbed a team high eight rebounds. Mike Lewis added seven points and snatched five boards, while Jeff Nokovich handed out four assist.

Along with Schaefer being named tournament MVP, Collins Jr. also made the tournament team.
