Jacob Nonemacher scored the opening four points and it was off to the races for the Blue Devils (1-1) as they ran up as a 25 point lead in the first half and never held less than a double-digit lead throughout the game. Stout held a 40-18 halftime lead.
Ryan Stangl came off the bench to lead Stout in scoring for the second consecutive night, this time popping 12 points as 12-of-15 players scored for Stout.
Freshman point guard Adam Chandler and Nonemacher each added eight points.
Stout held a 39-29 advantage off the boards and shot 64 percent from the floor in the first half. Stout cooled down considerably in the second half and finished the night shooting 46 percent. Stout did a fair amount of damage at the free throw line, hitting 21-of-30 charity shots. Stangl connected on 5-of-7 free throws. Nonemacher was 4-for-4 from the line and Brian Buck was 4-of-8.
Colorado (0-2) was basically a two player team, with Adam Mares scoring a game-high 23 points. Max Schuman tossed in 14 points. Colorado shot only 30 percent on the night, and 18 percent in the first half.
