Wesleyan 92, Wentworth 76

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — Wesleyan let a nine-point first half lead (25-16) slip away as Wentworth rallied to tie the score at halftime, 40-40. During the opening five minutes of the second half, Wesleyan used a 16-6 run to take a 56-46 lead as sophoimore guard Jared Ashe had six points and senior guard Tim Holland added five. Before the half ended, Holland poured in 28 points to finish the game with a career-high 32. He had just four points in the opening 20 minutes. Though Wentworth, which got 20 points each from freshman guard Sherrad Prezzie-Blue and senior forward Carmino DeMecurio, hung with Wesleyan as the lead stood just 78-71 with 3:25 to go, that was a close as it got and Wesleyan scored on each of its final seven possessions to win going away. Ashe finished with a career-high 19 points along with six assists.
