McDaniel 87, Valley Forge 48
McDaniel (1-0) defeated Valley Forge Christian (0-1) in the second semifinal of the night, by a score of 87-48. The 39-point win is the largest victory since the 1970 season, when the Terror defeated Franklin & Marshall 115-71.
The Terror had five players in double figures, with sophomore Kyle O’Connor scoring 16 points, including 3 for 7 on 3-pointers.
Senior Sam Anstead finished with 12 points, 3 assists, and 3 blocks.
McDaniel terrorized the Patriots on the defensive end of the court, forcing 41 turnovers which resulted in a Terror school record 28 steals. O’Connor led the way with a career-high six steals, with junior Mike DiPiero tying his career-high with five on the night.
The Terror jumped out to a 7-0 lead with a little over two minutes into the game, which would eventually lead to a 50-20 halftime score on 50% shooting from the field.
The second half was no different, as McDaniel shot 50% from the field again, and held Valley Forge to 33%. McDaniel would hold on to win 87-48.
With the wins, Salisbury will face McDaniel in the finals on Saturday at 4:00 pm, with Chestnut Hill playing Valley Forge Christian in the consolation game at 2:00 pm.
