BRIDGEWATER, Ma — Elms College senior guard Kyle Seyboth (Seekonk, MA) led a contingent of Blazers in double figures as he netted 22 points, including 6 of 8 from 3-point range, but host Bridgewater State College overcame a one-point halftime deficit to earn a 92-87 win over the Blazers in Friday night’s opening round of the 2004 Domino’s Tip-Off Classic at the Adrian Tinsley Center.

With the loss, the Blazers (0-1 overall) will play in Saturday afternoon’s consolation game against Norwich University, which fell to Springfield College 72-63 in Friday night’s other opening round game.

The Blazers, who led 41-40 at intermission, received 17 points apiece from junior guard James Vassar (Waterbury, CT) and freshman forward Renato Lindmets (Springfield, MA).

Sophomore guard John Ancrum (Harlem, NY) and junior forward Lonnie Branyon III (West Haven, CT) scored 12 and 10 points, respectively in the loss.

Bridgewater State (1-0 overall) received 24 points from junior David Rukstalis (Norwood, MA) and 23 points from senior Peter Santos (Fairhaven, MA).
