D'Youville 78, Cazenovia 69

BUFFALO, NY — Junior guard Sanquin Starks keyed a second-half rally by scoring 9 straight points to lead D'Youville over Cazenovia 78-69 Saturday afternoon at the College Center Gym.

Starks led five Spartans in double figures for the game. Soph wing Javon Jones came off the bench to record his third straight double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while classmates Kyle Ward and Ross King contributed 12 and 10 points, respectively. King, a 6-foot-7 center, played a strong game in the middle with 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. Senior guard Chris Mays also added 11 points.

The win is the fourth straight for the streaking Spartans, and keeps them in first place in the NEAC standings at 3-0. Tuesday they travel to arch-rival Medaille for a battle for first place with the Maverics.
