The Knights (17-1, 14-1 MIAC) raced to a quick 22-8 advantage as Beth Freeman tallied 10 points in the first 8:17 of the contest. The Knights led by as many as 15 points in the half before setting for a 39-27 lead at the break.
The second half would be more of the same as the Knights held the Oles to seven field goals over the final 20 minutes. Carleton tallied 42 points in the paint and outscored the Oles 38-20 in the second half. Carleton also held a 27-7 edge in second-chance points in leading the game from the opening tap.
Jill Johnson paced St. Olaf (1-17, 1-14 MIAC) with 13 points and eight rebounds. It marked Carleton's ninth consecutive win over the Oles and allowed the Knights to retain the Presidents Cup, a travelling trophy exchanged between the two Northfield colleges for the past four years.
Katie Freeman added 11 points and six assists for the Knights, who won for the 43rd time in its last 47 home games. The Knights have won all nine of its home games this season and have won its last five games.
All nine players that dressed for Carleton scored as the Knight reserves outscored the Ole reserves, 20-8.
The Knights continue their home stand by hosting winless Macalester College on Monday, Feb. 2, at 7:30 p.m.
