Fitchburg State 75, Bridgewater State 68

Bridgewater, MA — Fitchburg junior Jim Prignano (W. Hartford, CT) put on a shooting exhibition at the Adrian Tinsley Center today, dropping a career-high 29 points on 7-9 shooting from behind the 3-point arc, leading the visiting Falcons to a 75-68 win over Bridgewater State.

With the win, Fitchburg improves to 6-10 overall, and an even 3-3 in the MASCAC. Bridgewater drops to 7-9 on the season, and 4-2 in conference play.

Fitchburg was also helped by seniors Rashad Cope (Dorchester, MA) and Ja’Quaine Coe (Holden, MA) and junior Dan Largesse (Sutton, MA). Cope recorded 15 points and 4 rebounds, while Largesse registered 11 points. Coe had a great all-around game, with 7 points, 10 boards and 8 assists.

Bridgewater junior Peter Santos (Fairhaven, MA) led the Bears with 19 points and 8 rebounds, while sophomore Jerry Richardson (Shrewsbury, MA) came up just short of a double-double with 10 points and 9 rebounds, coming up huge in BSC’s second half comeback.

Bridgewater will see its next action on Tuesday when they host another MASCAC game, as Westfield State comes to town. Fitchburg will travel to Worcester State on Tuesday for another MASCAC matchup. Both games begin at 8.
