AC pushed their lead to 13 points (64-51) with 3:01 remaining and nailed 10-of-14 free throws down the stretch to seal the 76-62 win over the Knights.
With the win, AC moves into a second place tie with Albion and will travel to Holland for a showdown Wednesday, with first place on the line at Hope College.
Adrian's last victory over Calvin at the Merillat Center was in February of 1999 when AC secured a 65-58 win behind 30 points from Mike Riley. AC won at Calvin last season 61-58.
AC outrebounded the Knights, 38-28, including 17 offensive rebounds that proved to be the difference.
AC kept themselves in the game in the first half with eight offensive rebounds, while only shooting 31 % (10-of-37). Calvin used 59% shooting from the floor in the first half, but could only build a four point lead (29-25) at the break.
The Bulldogs would recover in the second half, shooting 15-of-26 (58%) from the floor, including 7-of-12 shooting from downtown.
AC was led by junior Brian Schaefer's 20 points, while sophomore Jeff Nokovich added 14, sophomore Billy Collins 12 and sophomore Mike Lewis recorded a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds (seven offensive). Senior Adam Novak grabbed eight rebounds and swiped four steals, while Nokovich handed out six assists.
