Dibble was especially hot in the first half, scoring 13 points as the Scots trailed 46-44 at the break. His first points of the second half came with three minutes to play and cut Ripon's lead to 79-76. Anthony Beaird got a friendly bounce on a three-pointer with a minute to play to bring the Scots within one and the Red Hawks failed to score on the ensuing possession, giving MC the ball with 24 seconds remaining. The Scots tried an entry pass to Troy Bennett in the closing seconds, but the ball was deflected and rolled on the floor to Dibble, who picked it up in traffic and was fouled as he tried a game-winning shot.
Bennett was the Scots' other star on the night, scoring 26 points. Scott Landisch and Nick Sekeres scored 28 and 21 points, respectively, for Ripon.
Monmouth is now 5-10 overall and 1-8 in the MWC. The victory snapped a nine-game losing streak.
