Waterville, Maine — Nate Anderson (Champlain Valley/Hinesburg, Vt.) had 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in leading Middlebury College to a 73-64 victory over Colby College in New England Small College Athletic Conference men’s basketball Friday night at Wadsworth Gymnasium.
Simon Behan (Salisbury/Dublin, Ireland) added 16 points and six rebounds for Middlebury (11-6, 1-3 NESCAC). Clark Read (University School/Pepper Pike, Ohio) finished with 10 points and six rebounds for the winners.
Middlebury led 30-26 at halftime, but Colby fought back and took a 35-34 lead early in the second half to take the lead for the first time all night. Middlebury, though, scored the next basket to go ahead again and never trailed from that point on.
Drew Cohen (Hackley/Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.) had 14 points, 13 rebounds and six blocked shots for Colby (5-14, 1-4 NESCAC). Andrew Jenkins (Gorham/Gorham, Maine) added 19 points and eight rebounds, while Patrick McGowan (N. Attleboro/N. Attleboro, Mass.) had 18 points and four assists.
