Hope 71, Olivet 48

Olivet, MI — The Flying Dutch climbed back on the winning track and moved back into sole possession of first place in the MIAA standings by defeating Olivet 71-48 on the road Wednesday night.

Coach Brian Morehouse's Dutch improved to 8-1 in the MIAA and moved half-a-game ahead of idle Calvin (7-1). Hope is 17-2 overall.

Olivet had the lead early in the game, but Hope battled back to tie the score, 20-20, with 8:41 left in the half. The Dutch scored seven unanswered points to gain a 27-20 lead at the 5:55 mark. Hope's defense went into gear holding Olivet to just two points the rest of the half and scoreless for the first five minutes of the second. By that time Hope held a 45-22 lead.

Kelly Taylor led the Dutch with 13 points while Bria Ebels and Adelynn Vilmann each tallied 10.
