Elms 84, Mount Ida 73

NEWTON, Ma. — Elms College junior guard Kyle Seyboth (Seekonk, MA) netted a collegiate career-high 30 points and the Blazers jumped out to a seven-point halftime lead en route to an 84-73 win over Mount Ida College in Wednesday night’s North Atlantic Conference (NAC) men’s basketball game at Newton.

Seyboth was 10 of 21 shooting from the field, including 8 of 16 from 3-point range for the Blazers, who improved to 5-10 overall, 5-4 NAC. Senior forward Deshawn Hawkins (West Hartford, CT) tallied 13 points and sophomore guard James Vassar (Waterbury, CT) added 12 points as the other two players to reach double figures in the victory.

Mount Ida had four players combine for 62 of their 73 points, led by sophomore guard Scott Chamberlain (Millis, MA), who scored a team-high 21 points in the loss.

The Blazers will return to action on Saturday, January 31 when they host UMaine-Farmington in a NAC contest. Game time is 2:00 p.m. at the Maguire Center.
