Catholic 84, York (Pa.) 73

WASHINGTON — William Morley netted a season-high 26 points and sophomore Patrick Satalin added a career-best 20 points as Catholic held off York, 84-73, in a Capital Athletic Conference contest at the DuFour Center.

Morley added a game-high 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season while Satalin drained four big three-pointers as CUA won its third straight game.

Tied at 36-36, the Cardinals (13-5, 5-2 CAC) opened the second half on a 9-0 run and led by as much as 50-38 when sophomore Matt Spierenburg connected on a pull-up jumper in the paint.

Brandon Bushey's layup off a steal brought the Spartans (8-9, 5-2 CAC) within 67-62 with 6:23 to play.

But Catholic was just too touch down the stretch. Sophomore Matt Tanner helped to put the game away with his hustling layup off a turnover, giving CUA a 80-68 lead with 1:15 remaining.

Bushey (12 points) and Kenny Fass (14 points) were two of five Spartans in double figures.

York shot an amazing 16-of-26 (61.5%) in the second half and 33-of-54 (61.1.%) for the game. Catholic was just as impressive, draining 19-of-30 (63.3%) in the second stanza and a season-best 35-of-61 (57.4%) for the game.

CUA held a 34-20 rebound edge while only committing 12 turnovers.

The Cardinals attempted just nine free throws, a season low, hitting on six of them. York did not fare much better, going 0-for-7 from the line.
