DeeDee Arnall (So., Warrenton, Ore.) continued her strong play, leading three Boxers (8-5, 3-3 NWC) in double figures with a game high 22 points on 8-15 from the field. Katannya Kapeli (Sr., Honolulu, Hawaii) added 15 while Tori Nelson (Sr., Mossyrock, Wash.) scored 13 to round out the scoring leaders for the Boxers. Krystle Mortimore led the Pioneers with 15 points and Marissa Wyatt added 11 off the bench.
Pacific jumped out early with a 12-0 run on the Pioneers (4-12, 1-6 NWC) who did not score their first bucket until six minutes into the game. The Boxers continued their scoring attack and led by as many as 15 during the first half. But leading into halftime and the early minutes of the second half, Lewis & Clark began to stage a come back.
Two minutes into the second half, the Pioneers managed to bring the deficit to five, but were never able to get closer than that. The Boxers exploded on a 23-4 run to set the tone of the second half and put the Pioneers away. Kristine Callan (Jr., Bend, Ore) recorded nine assists for the Boxers whose lead reached as high as 27 during the second half.
The Boxers seemed to mend their weekend ailment from the free throw line shooting 22-33 from the stripe. Also, Pacific controlled the ball well committing only 11 turnovers, while forcing 24 on the defensive end.
Pacific will look to carry some momentum into the end of the week when they welcome Willamette to Forest Grove on Friday, January 30.
