John Burzo scored 23 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead Baruch (11-8) to a 61-56 non-conference road victory over Yeshiva (4-10) Monday night.
The win is the fourth straight for Baruch as they now head into important conference games this week against John Jay and Hunter.
Baruch led from start to finish, but Yeshiva cut a 10-point deficit late in the second half to only one point with 18 seconds remaining.
Chris O’Connor and Burzo each hit two free throws in the final seconds to help avert the comeback by Yeshiva.
Prior to hitting the four free throws, Baruch had missed 10-of-25 shots from the charity line.
Garry Etienne scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while O’Connor finished with eight points.
Burzo, who was named the CUNYAC/CON EDISON Player of the Week earlier in the day, saw his streak of 20 or more points reach five games.
Yitz Rabald led Yeshiva with 13 points.
The victory avenges a 15-point loss (76-61) to Yeshiva earlier this season in the Ramapo Tournament.
Baruch will be at John Jay Wednesday night. Tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
