University women’s basketball team defeated Rutgers University-Camden, 95-77, in a New Jersey Athletic
Conference game here Saturday.
The Cougars, 13-5 overall and 3-3 in the NJAC, also received 16 points apiece from senior guard
Janae Brumby (Trenton, NJ/Trenton Central) and freshman forward Chi Clark (Maplewood,
NJ/Columbia).
James, who was named NJAC Player of the Week on Jan. 19, added 11 rebounds for Kean, while
Clark had eight. Brumby dished off six assists.
Kean took a 50-32 halftime lead as Shervon James scored 15 points and added eight rebounds in
the opening 20 minutes, while Clark and Rice each added eight points.
For Rutgers-Camden (7-10/2-4), sophomore guard Carmen Zimmitt (Woodstown,
NJ/Woodstown) scored 13 first-half points on her way to a career-high 23. Her previous high of 21 came
against New Jersey City University Dec. 3, 2003.
Senior guard Erin James (Gloucester, NJ/Gloucester) added 18 points and a game-high eight
assists for the Raptors, while junior center Crystal Lucas (West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford) and
sophomore forward Megan Rulon (Sewell, NJ/Clearview Regional) each added 12 points.
Rulon also had a team-high 10 assists as she collected her ninth straight double-double and 13th
overall this season.
The Lady Raptors return to action Wednesday with a 6 p.m. NJAC game at Montclair State.
