Eagles Drop Lake Michigan Conference Game to Share First Place with Concordia
The Edgewood College (5-1, 10-8) men’s basketball team dropped a 63-57 decision to Concordia University (5-1, 11-6) 63-57 in a Lake Michigan Conference game in Madison. Both teams now share first place in the Lake Michigan Conference at the end of the first round.
Trailing by as many as 14 points, the Eagles cut the deficit to 2 points at 59-57 on a 3-pointer by sophomore Kyle Scott with 17 seconds remaining. Concordia iced the game with by going 4 for 4 from the free throw line to finish.
The Eagles had three players in double digits. Senior guards Luke Sadowski and Randy Kolinske had 15 points each, while junior center Greg Blaska contributed 10 points and 8 rebounds. Kolinske also pulled down 9 rebounds. The Falcons were led in scoring by Josh Atkinson and Ryan Wietor with 15 and 14 points respectively. Chris Kellett added 10 points.
The Eagles play their final non-conference game of the season on Monday at UW-Platteville. This will be the fourth WIAC team that the Eagles will play this season.
