The Storm cut the lead to three with 1:35 to go on a Barry Moore layup. Cornell made it 70-65 when Andy Fox converted a layup with just under a minute to play. Moore was fouled by Andrew Peternel on an offensive rebound and his two free throws made it 70-67. Matt Brown fouled Matt Ditch allowing him to go to the line. He made both of his attempts to put the Rams back up by five.
The teams exchanged turnovers before Jason Snyder made a layup for the Storm with 15 seconds remaining. Ditch was fouled again with 13 to go and he made 1-2 from the line. Simpson got the ball back, but turned it over with eight seconds and that sealed the victory for Cornell.
The Rams' Nick Christensen led all scorers with 21 points. Ditch had 20 for Cornell. Snyder led Simpson with 15 points and nine rebounds. Three other Storm players scored in double figures led by point guard Dirk Walker who had a season high 12. Moore scored 10 points and had eight rebounds. Nick Boyd came off the bench for 10 for the Storm.
