The Knights (15-1, 12-1 MIAC) won for the 32nd time in their last 35 conference home games by making eight of 13 three-pointers, including all five of their attempts in the second half, and outscoring the Auggies 50-31 in the second half. Kristi Colbenson (chipped in with 12 points and five boards for Carleton.
The eight three-pointers made was the fourth most in school history and the 61.5 three-point percentage was the second best all-time.
Selina Theisen paced Augsburg (3-13, 3-10 MIAC) with 23 points and 12 rebounds, making 15-of-22 free throws. Ashely Sasek was also in double figures with 12 points.
The Auggies hung tough with Carleton early on, tying the game six times in the first 12:34, the final time on a Sasek three-point play. The Knights closed the half on a 16-6 spurt to take a 34-24 lead and scored 12 of the first 14 points of the second half, pushing the lead to 46-26 three minutes into the second half. Katie Freeman knocked down a pair of triples during the run and Vig added five points, including a three-pointer.
Carleton extended its lead to as many as 34 points in cruising to its eighth consecutive win over the Auggies.
All 10 Carleton players that dressed scored for the Knights for the second consecutive contest. Linnea Engel added eight points, eight rebounds and six assists. The rebound total moved her past the 500-rebound mark for her career. She is the 11th Carleton player to reach the milestone. Katie Freeman added nine points for Carleton.
