Schieck, whose first-half point total matched that of Augsburg's entire team, hit his first six shots, capped by a three-pointer that gave the Knights (11-6, 8-4 MIAC) a 24-10 lead less than nine minutes into the contest. From that point, the Knights closed the half on a 20-9 spurt to lead 44-19 at the break.
Schieck was 10-for-15 from the floor and 2-for-2 from the line. He grabbed four rebounds and added four assists and three steals. It was the fourth time this season and 11th time in his career he's scored 20 or more points in a game.
Carleton, the nation's second-ranked scoring defense, limited the Auggies to 36 percent shooting, including a miserable 1-for-19 from three-point range. The visitors missed on their first 17 shots from long-range as Carleton led by as many as 39 points in beating the Auggies (5-12, 3-9 MIAC) for the fourth consecutive time at West Gym.
The win snapped a two-game losing streak for Carleton. The Auggies lost for the third consecutive time and for the eighth time in the last nine games.
Dan Forkrud tallied 14 points and seven rebounds and Micah Johnson matched his career-high with 12 points off the bench for Carleton. Anthony Baquero was also in double figures with 11 points, draining 3-of-4 from three-point range.
Jonathan Gholson was the lone Auggie in double figures with 10 points.
