Beloit 84, Monmouth 52

BELOIT, Wis. — Depleted by injuries and ineffectiveness in their inside game, the Monmouth Fighting Scots had no answer for a Beloit team whose top player, Josh Hinz, thrives in the paint. Hinz exploited Monmouth's weakness for 22 points and 14 rebounds in the Bucs' 84-52 victory.
After taking a 10-point halftime lead, Beloit scored the first nine points of the second half to go up 49-30 and the Bucs continued to pull away from there, eventually leading by 35. Troy Bennett was the lone Scot in double figures with 11 points. Monmouth is now 4-10 overall and 0-8 in the Midwest Conference.
