LEICESTER, Ma. — Freshman forward Martha Arment (Lee, MA) and sophomore forward Sarah Castro (Russell, MA) each tallied a collegiate career-high 13 points for Elms College, but Becker College pulled away from a four-point halftime lead en route to a 58-49 win over the Blazers in Saturday’s North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women’s basketball game at Leicester.

With the loss, the Blazers fell to 2-12 overall, 2-6 NAC. Becker College won for the third straight time this week to improve to 4-9 overall, 3-6 NAC.

Becker College junior guard Elizabeth Ortiz (Southbridge, MA) netted 14 of her game-high 18 points in the first half, including 4 of 4 from 3-point range. Junior forward Melissa Bergman (Independence, IA) added 10 of her game-high 18 points in the second half for the Hawks in the victory.

Elms College returns to NAC play on Wednesday, January 28 at Mount Ida College. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
