The Yellowjackets improved to 15-0 overall, 4-0 in the University Athletic Association. Emory is 7-7 overall, 2-2 in the UAA.
Clayton Fuller drove for a layup with 2:41 left, giving Emory a 71-67 lead. Rochester's Ryan Mee sank his fifth three-point goal of the game just 18 seconds later, pulling the Yellowjackets within 71-70.
McAllister sank his crucial basket from deep in the right hand corner as Emory's Justin Zale leaped to get a hand in his face. It gave Rochester a 73-71 lead.
On Emory's next trip downcourt, Fuller missed a three-pointer and the ball bounced out of bounds to Rochester. He atoned for the miss by stealing the ball and drawing a foul from McAllister with 32 seconds left. He sank the first free throw, missed the second, and Seth Hauben cleared the rebound for Rochester.
Hauben gave the ball to Joe Canty who was fouled immediately by Jeff Hall. Canty missed the front end of the one-and-one. The rebound bounced long to the top of the key to Wisseh who was fouled by Rashawn Allen.
Wisseh sank both free throws and Fuller's three-pointer at the final buzzer bounced off the rim.
"I wanted to forget the situation," Wisseh said. "I treated it like it was just two shots in practice."
Rochester's late rally ruined a strong effort by Emory. The Eagles got their running game in synch in the first half and built a 47-39 lead at the break. Rochester entered the game as Division III's top defensive team, allowing just over 49 points a game.
The lead grew to nine early in the second half (50-41) before Rochester went on a 15-0 run (Andy Larkin and Hauben scored five points each) to take a 56-50 lead with 11:44 left.
Fuller's layup put Emory back in front, 62-61, with 7:14 to go and the Eagles held the edge until the consecutive three-pointers by Mee and McAllister.
Hauben had 18 points and 13 rebounds for Rochester. Mee finished with 17 points. Larkin added 12, and Wisseh scored 10.
Fuller led all scorers with 21 points. Matt Smith had 14, Allen scored 14, and Chase Fawsett had 11.
