DePauw 75, Millsaps 57

Greencastle, Ind. — DePauw shot a season-high 62.8 percent from the field on the way to a 75-57 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win over visiting Millsaps.

The Tigers scored the game's first 12 points as they connected on their first four field goal attempts-all three-pointers. Todd Capes hit the first followed by Joey Hanger and Jon Owens with Hanger knocking down the final one to give DePauw a 12-0 lead with 16:26 left in the first half.

The Tigers gained their largest lead at 39-20 as Dre Smith closed the half with a three-point play with 55 seconds remaining.

DePauw eventually extended the lead to a high of 32 points at 71-39 with 4:40 left before the Majors outscored the Tigers 18-4 down the stretch.

Reid Sakel came off the bench to lead the Tigers with 13 points, while Hanger added 12 and Derek Lawrence scored 11. Hanger knocked down all four of his field goal tries from beyond the three-point arc.

Tyler Warren led Millsaps with 20 points and seven rebounds, while Justin LeBlanc scored 18 and Demetrus Caldwell added 14.

The Tigers held a 35-24 advantage on the boards with Owens leading the way with five. Owens, Alex Stewart and Robert Davis each dished out four assists in the victory.

DePauw connected on 27 of 43 from the field including 14 of 22 in the first half and nailed 9 of 15 three-point tries. The Tigers held the Majors to just 32.8 percent from the floor.

The Tigers host Oglethorpe on Sunday at noon, while Millsaps travels to Rose-Hulman for a 1 p.m. tipoff.
