Williamsport, Pa. — LYCOMING MEN’S BASKETBALL RECORDS VICTORY OVER WILKES

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College men’s basketball team hosted Wilkes University, Wednesday evening, for a Freedom Conference showdown. The Warriors spread the ball around on offense and dominated the glass en route to a 72-59 victory. Lycoming improves to 11-4 overall and 3-1 within the conference. The Colonels slip to 9-5 and 2-2.

The Warriors emphasized the defensive end in the first half, limiting Wilkes to 27 points on 33% shooting from the field. On the offensive end, Lycoming was methodical in building an 11-point halftime lead, using small runs of 5-0 and 7-0 to pull away from the Colonels.

In the second half, Wilkes seemed to turn up the intensity at both ends but could not close the gap on the Warriors. Lycoming kept their double-digit advantage by pounding the ball inside to L.J. Huggler and Jeremiah Edison, who combined for 18 second-half points. The Warriors also kept the Colonels at bay by dominating the glass. Lycoming out-rebounded Wilkes 49-29 in the game.

The Warriors were led by Huggler and Jonathan Pribble with 14 points each. Pribble also added eight rebounds. Shaun Morris scored 11 points, grabbed six rebounds, and dished out a game-high five assists. Edison added 10 markers and a game-high 12 rebounds for his second consecutive double-double. Curtis Mays chipped in nine points, eight boards and four assists; and Nick Myers connected on three first-half three-pointers for nine points.

The Colonels were led by Ryan Milford off the bench with 10 points and seven rebounds. John Sclafani added nine points, while Dave Plisko and Mike Morgan each chipped in eight markers.

Lycoming will play again on Saturday when they travel to conference rival FDU-Florham.
