Steve Nordlund made 4 of 9 threes en route to 14 points, while Nick Malinowski ’04 chipped in 12 of 4 of 8 from behind the arc and Toby Carlson had 10. With fewer possessions, the Pioneers had only 74 field goal attempts, 25 below their average. Grinnell’s defensive presence still resulted in 26 Prairie Fire turnovers, 16 of which were Pioneer steals. The team took care of its possessions, turning it over only seven times.
Grinnell was 32 of 74 (43.3%) for the game and made 17 of 44 three’s (38.6%). Knox was 33 of 55 (60.0%) and made 6 of 18 threes (33.3%). Brandon Dimartino had 24 points and Jared Kelly scored 23 for the hosts.
The Pioneers move to 13-0 on the year and have a 6-0 Midwest Conference Record heading into this weekend’s road games. Friday at 5:00 the squad is at Carroll (9-5, 5-2 MWC) and Saturday faces #13 Lawrence (11-1, 5-0) at 2:00 in Appleton, Wis.
