CROFF, MILLS LEAD BROCKPORT MEN'S BASKETBALL VICTORY
In return to home court, Golden Eagles defeat St. John Fisher, 85-71

BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- Senior forward Charlie Croff (Lockport) scored a game-high 24 points with a game-high 14 rebounds, and Brandon Mills (Spencerport) also scored 24 points as SUNY Brockport defeated St. John Fisher, 85-71 Tuesday night at Tuttle North Gym.

With the win, the Golden Eagles improved to 7-5, while the Cardinals fell to 9-4. Prior to the game, Brockport Coach Nelson Whitmore was honored for becoming the fourth coach in school history to record 100 career wins, (achieved on January 14 at RIT).

Croff posted his seventh 20-point game in 12 contests, and the senior also recorded his fifth double-double of the winter. He made 7 of 11 shots from the floor and 8 of 10 from the line, while also adding three blocks. Mills was also 8 for 10 from the line and 8 for 11 from the floor in the contest.

Mike McGee (Notre Dame/Batavia) scored a team-high 17 points and Sean O'Brien (Orchard Park) scored 15 points with five assists and two steals for Fisher.

Leading 11-10 with 14:16 remaining in the first half, the Golden Eagles went on a 26-6 run in the next 10:20 for a 37-16 advantage. Brockport led by as many as 24 (50-26 with 1:17 left) and took a 50-28 lead into the half.

The Cardinals pulled to within eight with a 23-9 run for a 59-51 Brockport lead with 12:16 left in the second half. It was 62-54 Golden Eagles with 11:13 remaining before the hosts went on a 10-2 run in the next 4:40 for a 72-56 advantage, and the Cardinals never got closer then 10 the rest of the half.

David Andrews (Huntington Station/Walt Whitman) scored six points and Orlando Nazario (New York/Seward Park) had a game-high six assists for Brockport. The Golden Eagles shot 48% for the night while the Cardinals shot 36%, and Brockport had a 49-31 rebounding average.

SUNY Brockport returns to SUNYAC league play this weekend, with games Friday at SUNYIT (8 p.m.) and Saturday at Oneonta (4 p.m.).
