Madison, N.J. — ROYALS FALL TO 1-12 OVERALL AND 0-3 IN FREEDOM CONFERENCE WITH 67-54 LOSS AT DREW; O’DONNELL REGISTERS ANOTHER ‘DOUBLE-DOUBLE’

MADISON, N.J.—The University of Scranton connected on only 8 of 28 field goal attempts in the second half (28.6 percent) en route to a 67-54 loss to Drew University in Freedom Conference action Saturday afternoon.

Despite the loss, junior forward Brian O’Donnell continues to be a bright spot for the Royals, registering his sixth ‘double-double’ of the season and the 23rd of his career with 15 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. Sophomore point-guard Michael Riccobono tied his career-high with 11 points for Scranton, which lost its 11th straight game to fall to 1-12 overall and 0-3 in the Freedom Conference.

Brad Greenman led the Rangers, now 3-8 overall and 1-2 in league play, with 16 points and Leon Thomas added 15 points and six rebounds. Drew connected on 14 of 25 second half field goal attempts (56 percent) to wipe away a one-point Scranton halftime lead.

The Royals will host Lebanon Valley this Monday, January 17, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the John J. Long, S.J., Center.
